Practice for the Six Hours of Sao Paulo began this morning in Brazil with a 90-minute session. Nicolas Lapierre was at the wheel for most of this session, Alex Wurz only drove during the last ten minutes. Nicolas has to learn the track as he never raced here before.
“It is a good first practice session,” he said. “The beginning was not easy with a drizzle and more heavy rain then. Anyway, I have been able to learn this track that I have to discover completely. Interlagos is a nice track, with beautiful curves, a lot of undulation, uphill, downhill… The traffic is very tricky because the track is not so big and there are not so many straight lines.
“Set up basis is good. Of course, we can optimize it but we can benefit from the experience gained at Silverstone. We know better the aero package so we move forward quickly. We will make a good debrief and we will know more where we are this afternoon.”
Nicolas Lapiere set the third fastest time of the Free Practice 1. Alex Wurz will start the second free practice.
