Continuity in TMG GT86 Cup’s third season

Preparations are running at full steam and on 28 March the TMG GT86 Cup season will begin within the VLN series for the third consecutive season. TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH’s tried and tested GT86 CS-V3 race car is again the basis, with no significant technical changes this season following the major overhaul in 2014.

This year it will again be about more than just trophies. TMG again provides aprize fund of €86,000: the overall Cup winner gets €25,000, the second team €18,000, the third €13,000. And in all races prizes in kind can also be won. Pole position earns a high-quality TOYOTA watch while individual race winners can again look forward to a set of high-performance tyres by Cup partner Pirelli. What also hasn’t changed is the extensive TMG spare-part service during all races. The registration fee for the TMG GT86 Cup is €4,500 per car, allowing teams some leeway for their choice of drivers.

Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport: “After two successful seasons of the TMG GT86 Cup our car is well prepared for the Nordschleife challenges. We can provide all teams with the best possible conditions and look forward to great racing on one of the most traditional and demanding tracks in the world. We have continually improved the car over the past two years and in order to keep costs manageable we want stability this year. We are proud of the fact that our concept of providing customers with attractive and exciting racing has really been successful. And with our partners, we will once again support our customers by showing huge commitment and applying our usual high standards. We look forward to an exciting season in 2015.
