The German Rally Championship (DRM) kicked off the new season last weekend at the ADAC Rally Stemweder Berg following a one-year sabbatical. Among the entrants was one Toyota GT86 CS-R3 driven by junior driver Jonas Ertz and co-driver Maresa Lade. For Jonas, the event provided new challenges in many ways. It was his first participation in a German Rally Championship event, his first time with a new car and with a new co-driver. The GT86 CS-R3 competed in the increasingly popular RC4 class which is the home for R2, R3 and the latest Rally4 cars and saw twelve cars entering the event.
The Rally Stemweder Berg consisted of twelve special stages comprising approx.. 130 kms. Despite the demanding mix of asphalt and gravel sections, the Toyota GT6 CS-R3 crew was able to improve successively. In the end, Jonas Ertz and Maresa Lade reached the finish in seventh place in the RC4 class and eighth in the 2WD category.
The second round of the German Rally Championship, the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally, will take place on 20 and 21 August around St. Wendel.
