RWD Excitement is Back in Rally!
The rear-wheel-drive GT86 CS-R3 is a rally car aimed at private competitors, offering reliability, safety and, most of all, fun.
The car conforms to FIA R3 regulations, meaning it is eligible for the FIA’s new RC4 class and suitable for all levels of rallies, from local competitions right up to the FIA World Rally Championship.
The CS-R3 is a cost-effective way to enjoy the thrills of competitive rallying. It is powered by a normally aspirated two-litre boxer engine, upgraded for rallying. Changes to the software and hardware, such as cam lift and compression ratio, are part of an extensive development programme leading to a power output of 232 hp and 235 Nm torque.
Throughout the development process, TGR-E has focused on reducing weight whilst delivering safety, reliability and fun on both tarmac and gravel.
A sequential shift six-speed transmission and limited slip rear differential give a feeling of true high performance while an FIA-homologated safety cage has been designed and calculated, allowing weight optimisation.
TGR-E has also sourced tailor-made wiring looms and motorsport engine ECUs, while the car will feature market-leading tarmac and gravel suspension kits, including specifically-designed arms.
The GT86 CS-R3 is one of four cars eligible for the Europe-wide TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Trophy which offers an attractive prize money fund for TGR-E customer teams in selected races and championships, including the German Rally Championship.
