The GR Supra GT4 has finished its first racing season on a high by winning the 2020 FFSA GT – GT4 France’s Am Cup. CMR drivers Wilfried Cazalbon and Caesar Gazeau had a perfect weekend at the championship’s season finale at Paul Ricard, setting the pole position in both qualifying sessions and then winning the Am category in both one-hour races. With a maximum score of 50 points, Cazalbon and Gazeau were able to turn their 18-point deficit into a 14-point advantage and win the Am title.
The second GR Supra GT4, entered under the banner of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing France by CMR, also had a fantastic end to the season. Starting in the Silver category, Aurelien Panis, partnered by his father and former Grand Prix winner Olivier Panis, claimed one pole position and one overall victory at Paul Ricard while finishing second in class in the second race.
Aurélien Panis: “I would like to thank Toyota France and Julien Piguet for the trust they’ve shown in me as well as the entire CMR team who have worked all season long to develop the performance of the Toyota GR Supra GT4. There is no doubt that we have done a good job for the future and that this car will be at the front of the field in the 2021 championship.”
Olivier Panis: “I had a great time driving the Toyota GR Supra GT4 and sharing it with Aurélien motivated me even more to do everything I could to rise to the challenge. I’m very proud of him and his investment in Toyota France, their collaboration throughout the season has paid off and this victory alongside him has a very strong significance for both of us.”
