First victory for the GR Supra GT4 in the DTM Trophy and podium finishes at Spa

Last weekend, the GR Supra GT4 and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Germany earned its first win in the DTM Trophy at the opening Lausitzring race on Saturday. Nico Verdonck started the race from third on the grid, immediately moved into the lead and took a hard-fought lights-to-flag victory. On Sunday, the Belgian aimed for another podium finish, but had to retire the #90 car after 12 laps following a contact with another competitor.

Nico’s Dutch team-mate Stéphane Kox also underlined her improving form. The 27-year-old finished 11th in Saturday’s race in the second Ring Racing-entered GR Supra GT4. On Sunday, Stéphane scored her first top 10 result of the season by finishing eighth and thus collected her first championship points.

British GT Championship
The British GT Championship visited the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium last weekend. In qualifying for the fourth race of the season, Scott McKenna and John Ferguson secured a front row position on the grid in TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK’s GR Supra GT4. In the race, however, the number 15 car lost several laps due to a damper issue. After a repair the team was able to return to the action and eventually finish second in the GT4 Pro-Am class.

FFSA GT – GT4 France
The French FFSA GT4 Championship also held its two races in Spa-Francorchamps. In the Ardennes, Antoine Potty and Erwan Bastard once again made it onto the podium. The number 34 GR Supra GT4 entered by CMR finished second overall in Sunday’s race. A day earlier, a flat tyre on the last lap destroyed their dream of the first win of the season. Potty/Bastard had to settle for seventh place in the Silver Class.

The sister car with start number 30 – driven by Wilfried Cazalbon and Loris Cabirou – finished sixth and ninth in the Pro-Am class on the 7.004 km Grand Prix circuit.
