GR Supra GT4 celebrates its 25th victory

Last weekend, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Sweden earned the GR Supra GT4’s 25th victory since its competition debut in June 2020 by winning the second GT4 Scandinavia race at Anderstorp while SVC Motorsport Group scored its first podiums in the GT4 European Series.

GT4 Scandinavia visited the former F1 circuit of Anderstorp for its third round of the season. On the high-speed track, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Sweden scored the 25th win for the GR Supra GT4 in Sunday’s race. Following their third race win of the season, Hans Holmlund and Emil Skarås head to the finale at Mantorp Park on 1-2 October as championship leaders.

Podium finishes in the GT4 European Series
In the GT4 European Series races at the Nürburgring, SVC Motorsport Group achieved its best result of the season with the GR Supra GT4. Antoni Chodzen and Patrick Zamparini, who replaced regular driver Piotr Chodzen at short notice, finished second in the Am class in both races.

Andrea Bénézet and Wilfried Cazalbon, who share CMR’s #3 GR Supra GT4, finished seventh in the Am category in the first race despite an accident in the early stages. On Sunday, the duo started from pole position but retired on the second lap after a collision.

Bad luck also for their CMR team-mates Stéphane Lemeret and Antoine Potty who had to abandon both races because stones had pierced their car’s radiator. Leaving the Nürburgring empty-handed is a huge setback for Stéphane and Antoine in the fight for the Silver Cup title. Ahead of the season finale in Barcelona, taking place on 8-10 October 2021, the gap to the championship leaders is 44 points.

GR Supra GT4’s Austrian debut ends with a points finish
At the GR Supra GT4’s very first race on Austrian soil, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Germany made it into the top 10. Nico Verdonck finished ninth in Saturday’s race at the Red Bull Ring. In the second race, the Belgian was up to fourth at half-distance before a puncture forced him to retire.

The second Ring Racing-entered GR Supra GT4 was also back on the grid in Austria. After sitting out the previous race weekend, Stéphane Kox was able to improve steadily on the 4.326 km high-speed circuit: After finishing 17th in the first race, the 27-year-old was 11th on Sunday.

The DTM Trophy will start the second half of the season from 17 to 19 September at Assen in the Netherlands.
