GR Supra GT4 – a race car for all levels of drivers

After successfully achieving homologation in March 2020, the GR Supra GT4 is ready to hit the race tracks around the world. While the first set of cars will be issued to European customers, sales will expand to North America and to Japan/Asia later in 2020.

With the GR Supra GT4, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing intends to strengthen its focus on customer motorsport in order to enable motorsport-lovers to participate in races worldwide. The GT4 category is popular with private race teams around the world due to its low cost and ease of entry. GT4 cars are eligible to participate in a variety of races across the globe, with a dedicated GT4 series in Europe, including several national series, and the United States as well as the Super Taikyu Series in Japan and the Nürburgring Endurance Series (VLN).

The GR Supra GT4 is based on the GR Supra – TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s first-ever global model – and it is developed and produced by TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH. Development began in early 2019 and included an exhaustive test programme, covering more than 12,000km at circuits around Europe.

A three-litre in-line six cylinder engine with single twin-scroll turbocharger has been tuned to 320kW* (430hp) with a 7-speed sports automatic transmission with paddle shift and the mechanical limited slip differential driving the rear wheels. An Akrapovič exhaust system is fitted and Ravenol provides first-fill lubricants.

The front splitter and rear wing are made of natural fiber composite, contributing to an overall weight of 1,350kg*. Following the specification of the GR Supra road car, the front suspension will be MacPherson strut, and rear suspension will be multilink with KW dampers at the front and rear. The braking system is enhanced through the use of a dedicated brake calliper for racing, six-piston front and four-piston rear, while running on Pirelli tyres.

Designed to appeal to drivers of all levels, the GR Supra GT4 benefits from its unique Intelligent GT4 Racing System which, through user-friendly electronics and automatic functionality, minimises distractions to allow the driver to focus fully on racing the car.

Safety is a priority and the GR Supra GT4 will be installed with a high-strength roll cage on the lightweight steel body, and an FIA-standard racing seat with six-point harness. The interior features a carbon fibre instrumental panel with a display and steering wheel specifically designed for GT4 competition.

The car price is 175,000€ (excluding tax, custom and logistic fees etc).
