In the sixth race of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Lime Rock Park, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America achieved its best result of the season so far. Alfredo Najri and Super GT driver Sacha Fenestraz finished fifth in the GR Supra GT4. Najri had started the two-hour race from tenth on the grid before team-mate Fenestraz took over the 430 hp (320 kW) front-engined rear-wheel drive car. The 21-year-old, who finished fourth in last year’s Super GT championship driving a GR Supra, made up further positions on the 2.4-kilometre track. After 112 laps, the team celebrated its first top five finish of the year.
The Bluff City Racing GR Supra GT4 (start number 21) retired just after the 30 minute mark due to an accident. The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge continues on 7 August at Road America in Elkhart Lake.
