A record of four GR Supra GT4 took the start of the first round of the Japanese Super Taikyu Series on Sunday. In rainy conditions, Hiroshima Toyopet Racing finished the season opener at Twin Ring Motegi third in the ST-Z class reaching the podium in its first race with the new car. Just one position behind was the #311 CSI Racing GR Supra GT4 while Hayashi Telempu Shade Racing finished twelfth on the 4.801km track. Meanwhile, reigning champions Rookie Racing scored a class win in the ST-Q class with their GR Supra GT4. The endurance race, originally scheduled for five hours, had to be red flagged in the fourth hour due to heavy rain and strong winds which made it impossible to resume.
Javier Quirós and Alfredo Najri had a short appearance in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. After only three laps on the Sebring International Raceway, Quirós had to park the GR Supra GT4 when contact with a competitor caused rear right suspension damage. In qualifying for the two-hour race, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America team set the eleventh fastest time among 35 participants.
