The 2021 Swedish Touring Endurance Championship (STEC) season opener held at Mantorp Park last weekend proved be an eventful affair. Rain and later also snow affected the six-hour race and eventually brought it to a premature end while H&H Racing’s Toyota GT86 CS-Cup was fourth in its class and catching up on the leaders.
Already in qualifying, the reigning TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Trophy Champion Alec Arho-Havrén and his team-mates Ortwin Herterich and Nils-Arne Holmudden made their mark by claiming the pole position in their class which also meant a front row starting position in a field of more than 40 cars. In the race, the team dominated its class on a wet track but on the way to victory, the #26 TOYOTA went off the track. The H&H Racing team fought back to fourth position when snow began to fall, causing the race to be stopped with the red flag and thus also bringing H&H Racing’s chase to an end.
