Team of champions in TMG GT86 Cup’s third season

Finally on 28 March, Nürburgring will see the start of the VLN endurance championship season, which also marks the start of the TMG GT86 Cup’s third seasonThese races will again take place on the famous Nordschleife.

Compared with last year, some teams now show even more commitment. There will be nine cars in the TMG GT86 Cup at the beginning of the season. Dörr Motorsport, last year’s champions, are going to field three cars. The Belgian team AMC Sankt Vith will have two TMG GT86 CS-V3s. In addition well established teams like Toyota Swiss Racing Team, WH Motorsport and Vantage Motorsport from England will again take part. And last but not least: the exotic Toyota Team Thailand, which is going to come all the way to join us for a few races in the Eifel.

“We are well prepared to defend our title,” says Uwe Isert, Dörr-Motorsport’s team manager. “Our cars have been fully overhauled after the winter break. In one test, we worked upon improving the cars’ racing performance. It really felt good. We are ready,“ Isert says.

Arne Hoffmeister (Dörr-Motorsport) is of the same opinion. The 26-year-old won the TMG GT86 Cup driver classification in 2014, in conjunction with the 25-year-old Fabian Wrabetz. “We have fine-tuned the car a wee bit and are ready now. We want to use the first race to let everyone know that we can defend our title,“ Hoffmeister throws down the gauntlet.

Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport: “After two successful years, the TMG GT86 Cup is now a firm part of the VLN. We still want to provide our teams with the best possible and equal conditions to see really exciting races. I am glad that many of our customers have opted for participation. This shows that we must have done many things right over the past years.“
