TMG customer cars dogged by bad luck at the Nürburgring 24 Hours

  • Eventful race for TMG GT86 Cup teams
  • Mathol Racing secures €5,000 prize money
  • Milltek Racing on podium in the SP3 class

Smiling faces at Mathol Racing; from position 141, where they started the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the team of Matthias Holle with their Toyota GT86 CS-V3 drove to an overall 92nd place in the classification. This means that the drivers Jan Sluis, Luca Veronelli, Detlef Wormstall and Christian Kranenberg achieved the best result for a Toyota GT86 in the famous 24-hour race, securing their team a prize of €5,000.

The other TMG GT86 Cup competitors, using the CS-Cup car, however were hit by misfortune. Only the Milltek Racing team reached the finish line, despite technical problems with the CS-Cup car, and took third place in the SP3 class with Lucian Gravis, Dale Lomas, and the father son duo Werner and Moritz Gusenbauer.

Early in the race, Milltek Racing had been part of a fight for the class lead with their GT86 Cup rivals Nils Jung, Florian Wolf, Manuel Amweg and Fred Yerly from Ring Racing. Nevertheless Ring Racing had to stop their car in the early Sunday morning due to technical issues as did the Belgian Pit Lane – AMC Sankt Vith team.
