- RAVENOL is series partner and supplier to the TOYOTA one-make cup
- Lubricant manufacturer brings a wealth of motorsport experience to the TMG GT86 Cup
- The company from Werther in Germany benefits from feedback from Cup participants
Lubricants play an extremely important role in many areas of motorsport. Throughout the 2017 TMG GT86 Cup season, the new series partner and lubricant supplier RAVENOL takes over this task. The 71-year-old company from Werther in Germany supplies the oil for the engines (racing oil with a viscosity of 5W-50), gearboxes and differentials in the GT86 CS-Cup racing car.
“TOYOTA is one of the most important automobile manufacturers in the world. For this reason, it is important for us to demonstrate the quality of our products in the cars from TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH,” says Martin Huning, Director Motorsport at RAVENOL and explains thereby the commitment of RAVENOL in the TMG GT86 Cup. RAVENOL is involved in around 100 motorsport series worldwide, among others in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, among various teams in the World Touring Car Championship and the ADAC GT Masters.
The motorsport history of RAVENOL began in the 1980s as a supplier and participant in rally. Since 2004, at that time in the DMSB-Rundstrecken-Challenge, the company is also active on the circuit. Huning added: “Motorsport is of great importance for the development of our lubricants. The message is obvious: what works perfectly under extreme circumstances on the race track, will more than satisfy the needs of a production car.”
One point is also significant for Huning in the partnership with the TMG GT86 Cup: “We are pleased that the Cup is held at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The forces there are particularly high for the lubricants. This is especially true for the transmission oil. On no other circuit in the world will it be so much shifted as in one lap in the Green Hell. Therefore we are very much looking forward to the feedback of the Cup participants. It is important for us to know what our partners’ experience with RAVENOL products is. We want to continuously develop and improve them.”
