Top Ten at the Glen, podium finish in Tuscany

The second IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Watkins Glen within a week’s time saw TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America earn a top-10 finish. Alfredo Najri was running eighth in the #14 GR Supra GT4 at half distance when he handed over the car to his team-mate Pierre Kleinubing. The Brazilian, however, incurred a drive-through penalty due to a pit lane infringement which dropped him back to 12th. A strong fighting performance, and some fortune with a safety car, saw the by Riley Motorsports- entered GT4 car recover to ninth overall at the chequered flag.

Bluff City Racing’s #21 GR Supra GT4 was unable to take part in last Friday’s two-hour race due to the damage sustained in an accident during the first Watkins Glen race. The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge continues on 17 July at Lime Rock in Connecticut.

Podium on first start outside Germany
For Jonas Ertz and his co-driver Maresa Lade, their first appearance outside Germany proved to be successful. They reached the R3C class podium at the Rally del Casentino in Italy at the wheel of the GT86 CS-R3. After a thrilling battle against local competition, Ertz/Maresa took third in the Gassner Motorsport-entered car despite a minor off in the penultimate special stage which forced the crew to remove leaves from the air intake. They contested the final night stage with damaged headlights.
