The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing customer teams look back on a successful race weekend. The GT86 CS-Cup wins the Swedish Touring Endurance Championship title and scores a podium in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) while the GR Supra GT4 concludes the DTM Trophy and GT4 European Series with further victories.
Alec Arho Havrén, Ortwin Herterich and Nils-Arne Holmudden defended their championship title in the Swedish Touring Endurance Championship’s 4B class. The successful trio had a perfect season finale at the wheel of H&H Racing’s Toyota GT86 CS-Cup at Gotlandring taking pole position, setting the fastest lap and winning the race. Although H&H Racing did not take part all of the championship rounds, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing customer team won the title in the 4B category.
Victory, pole position and a strong team performance at the Norisring
Nico Verdonck showed an impressive pace during the DTM Trophy season finale at the Norisring. At the wheel of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Germany’s GR Supra GT4, the Belgian took pole position on Saturday followed by his second win of the season. On Sunday, the 35-year-old extended his 2021 podium record to five by finishing third overall. Verdonck finishes the season in third place in the overall standings.
Team-mate Stéphane Kox also brought great joy to the Ring Racing team which enters both cars in the championship. The Dutchwoman finished a strong third in qualifying for the final race of the season on Sunday, but retired early in the race. The day before, Kox had finished tenth on Nuremberg the street circuit. This helped Ring Racing to seal third place in the teams’ championship.
CMR concludes GT4 European Series with another Silver Cup win
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing customer team CMR has claimed another victory at the 2021 GT4 European Series season finale in Barcelona. The GR Supra GT4 of Stéphane Lémeret and Antoine Potty won the Silver Cup in Saturday’s race. On Sunday, the French team’s number 8 car finished tenth. Stéphane, Antoine and CMR finish the 2021 season in second place in the Silver Cup drivers’ and teams’ championships respectively.
Toyota GT86 CS-Cup takes podium finish at NLS season finale
Car Competition took third place in the SP3 class at the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie’s (NLS) season finale where the Hungarians Adam Lengyel and Bendeguz Molnar shared the cockpit of the Toyota GT86 CS-Cup. The next season of the Nürburgring-based championship starts on the last weekend of March 2022.
